چکیده

There is an increasing desire in many organizations, including NASA, to use constellations or fleets of autonomous spacecraft working together to accomplish complex mission objectives. Coordinating the activities of all the satellites in a constellation is not a trivial task, however. The TEAMAgent system is being developed under a Phase II SBIR contract from the Surveillance and Control Division of the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate to address this issue. The TEAMAgent system is an extension of the ObjectAgent software architecture to constellations of multiple spacecraft. The required spacecraft functions for the multiple spacecraft missions have been identified and the use of software agents and multi-agent based organizations to satisfy these functions have been demonstrated. TEAMAgent is presently being ported from Matlab to C++ for implementation on a real-time system.

Agent-Based Control of Multiple Satellite Formation Flying

Formation flying is an enabling technique for numerous proposed satellite missions. The TeamAgent software system, based on ObjectAgent technology, is designed to enable multiple satellites to cooperate autonomously with particular focus on formation flying. A generalized agent-based software architecture for formation flying has been devised and is being applied to the Air Force Research Labor...

Overcoming RFI with High Mask Angle Antennas and Multiple GNSS Constellations

Radio frequency interference (RFI) has been being a significant issue for global navigation satellite system (GNSS) users. An increasing number of satellites in multiple constellations enable users to use high mask angle antennas (HMAAs) to reduce RFI from terrestrial sources. This paper studies the optimal antenna mask angle that maximizes the suppression of RFI but still maintains the perform...

Satellite Diversity Gain Over The LEOS Channel, Based CDMA Systems

There is a trend for mobile satellite system architectures aimed at the deployment of multi-satellite constellations in Non-Geostationary Earth Orbits (NGEOs). This allows the user terminals to be small size, low cost and having low power demand. In present and next generation satellite systems, CDMA has been proposed as the multiple access technique for a number of mobile satellite communicati...

Estimation of Differential Inter-system Biases between the Overlapping Frequencies of Gps, Galileo, Beidou and Qzss

Multiple global and regional navigation satellite systems are currently being developed. In addition to the already available GPS and GLONASS constellations, Galileo and BeiDou satellites have been launched, as well as one QZSS satellite and other regional satellites. At the same time GPS and GLONASS are being modernized. Highprecision positioning applications that rely on carrierphase ambiguit...

Synthetic Aperture Characterization of Radar Satellite Constellations

The concept of radar satellite constellations, or clusters, for SAR and other radar modes has been proposed and is currently under research. These systems are composed of multiple, formation-flying satellites with each satellite having its own, coherent receiver. Increased swathwidth compared to that of traditional SAR is attainable by processing the spatial data obtained from multiple satellit...
